TZM alloy sample after hot-dip aluminum plating the surface is smooth with metal luster and without plating leakage. In order to know more about the micro-structure of TZM alloy after hot-dip aluminized coating to observe alloy’s metallographical phase micro-structure found the coating which got from hot-dip aluminized plating is uniform and compact and has two layer of inside and outside layer with obvious phase boundary. Sample a coating thickness is about 100um. The aluminized layer is about 85um and outside, insider layer is about 15um. Sample b coating thickness is about 150um. The aluminized layer is about 120um and outside, insider layer is about 30 um. From this study data we can found in the same hot-dip temperature with immersing time increase alloy’s coting thickness increase as well.
Analysis XRD phase of TZM alloy with aluminized coating found, the alloy layer of sample a and b is made up of Al4Mo, Al5Mo and other intermetallic compound. On the other hand, there are little Al in alloy layer of the sample alloy which observed by X-ray diffraction, and this is because during machine glazed finish process inevitable will leave aluminized layer. And sample a has shown up little Al2(MoO4)3 may because during hoy-dip involve a small amount of oxygen.
