TZM alloy melting point is higher, so generally prepared by powder metallurgy method. The TZM alloy billets were obtained by mixing, pressing and sintering. And then the billets will go through hot working to improve the properties of the alloy. Since TZM alloy recrystallization state is brittle at room temperature, so difficult to deform. Therefore, prior to cold and warm rolling TZM alloy should to avoid full recrystallization annealing. And when the high temperature processing, since the recrystallization will make material soften and intensity reduce, which is more conducive to machining distortion. So the TZM alloy commonly used recrystallization to refine grain and increase density.
By observing the influence of recrystallization annealing temperature on TZM alloy microstructure and hardness found when the annealing temperature is 1100℃, the grain remains fibrous tissue processing state. But after 1600 ℃ annealing, the grain becomes coarse elongated grains significantly grow up, indicating recrystallization has been completed. The hardness of the alloy also increases as the annealing temperature decreased, the average rate of temperature drop of the hardness of which is 0.13 (HV / ℃). After 1600℃ completely recrystallized material has been significantly softened.
