TZM alloy powder mixed was the first process of producing TZM alloy and mixed TZM alloy powder usually using ball milling. In preparing the alloy powder usually choose good performance Mo, TiH2, ZrH2, and C powder and mixed them with a certain scale and evenly. And then put them into nylon the bucket to ball milling for 4 hours. Wherein the milling process is to make the powder mixed evenly, it works is that when a nylon barrel is rotated, packed in nylon bucket ball mill and grinding materials are under the effect of friction and centrifugal force with nylon barrel is rotated to a certain height, then automatically fall which will cause impact and grinding action to grinding materials so the material was milled.
The role of the ball milling process for TZM alloy powder mixed mainly shown in the following three aspects:
1.Mixing Effect: making TZM alloy raw powder mix evenly.
2.Grinding Effect: ball milling can gridding the large particles of powder to small particles, increasing the surface area of the powder, thereby facilitating the sintering.
3.Activation Effect: In the milling process, the ball's impact and friction effect may cause the powder particles to produce lattice bending, distortion, hardening, internal stress increases and other changes which can make powder particles activated and it is good for sintering process.
