TZM alloy billet preparation process probably consists of three parts: ball-milling (mixing), compact molding and sintering.
TZM alloy billet compression moulding is the second process in the powder metallurgy production processes which is the one of the most basic and important process of alloy. In this process it makes metal powder form a compact which has a certain shape, size, porosity, and strength (density). The quality of compacts will directly affect the final quality of the TZM alloy. Usually the powder pressing methods are: steel pressing, fluid isostatic pressing, powder forging, tri-axial pressing and vibration repression. Wherein the steel pressing does not suit for produce large TZM alloy, because during the pressing it will cause various parts of alloy billets has different densified degree.
Using powder pressing method to produce TZM alloy billet and its press-forming method and process parameters during pressing are as follows:
Pressing methods: uniaxial press
Pressure: 25MPa
Dwell time: 10s
