At a certain temperature, the deformation resistance of titanium-zirconium-molybdenum alloy increase with strain rate increases. In the initial stage, the deformation resistance increases faster, and then as the strain rate increases the rate of deformation resistance tends to stable. This phenomenon is mainly because with the deformation rate increase the strain level increases and the dislocation density increase as well. If the deformation rate is not great strain energy which cause by dislocation can pass to other grains at a certain time. However, when the dislocation density increase to a certain extent, the solid solution strengthening of TZM alloy microelement exacerbated the lattice distortion, prompting alloy occurs strain strengthening, thus exacerbating the hardening of material.
With strain rate increasing, within a certain time the amount of deformation increasing, dislocational intersect and tangles happen in dislocation movement, so that the heat generated by plastic deformation can not transfer to other grains which increased strain energy. Besides, the temperature effect increases the deformation temperature TZM alloy, so that the deformation resistance tends to stabilized.
