Titanium Zirconium Molybdenum Alloy Deformation Resistance Analysis

Titanium zirconium molybdenum (TZM) alloy has high recrystallization temperature and room temperature than the mechanical properties of molybdenum. In particular, it has good mechanical properties at high temperature and pressure, so it has been wildly use in the field of military industry, metallurgy industry and in high-temperature structural parts. But because TZM alloy has high temperature deformation, deformation resistance, low temperature ductility and poor range of processing characteristics, leading to its limits in the application and development in the field. During rolling, deformation resistance is an important basis for determining the parameters of the rolling process, as below will introduce the influence of TZM alloy deformation resistance by different deformation temperature the.
After experiment found that under the same process parameters, rolling deformation resistance decrease with deformation temperature rises. On the one hand, the deformation temperature increases, so that the metal atom kinetic energy increases, the resistance of dislocation motion decline, vacancies and interstitial atoms also more active, forming dynamic to soft the flow stress. On the other hand, the temperature increases, enhanced coordination of deformation, so that the dislocation density which gathered by grain boundary sliding process in the grain boundary reduced and to improve the ability of plastic deformation.
