Producing Antioxidant Coating Mosi2 of Titanium Zirconium Molybdenum Alloy

Currently, there are several ways to produce MoSi2 antioxidant coating on titanium-zirconium-molybdenum alloy surface such as pack cementation method, molten-salt growth method, chemical vapor deposition and thermal spraying method. Using pack cementation method to produce MoSi2 coating has some problems during the process. Cause during the production process the reaction temperature is high and hard to control so this method is not suitable for produce complex parts but to simple configuration products. There will introduce using thermal spray coating to produce MoSi2 coating as follow.
Thermal spraying coating method by means of heated spraying material to heat to molten state or semi-molten state and at a constant speed inject and deposited onto TZM alloy surface, forming surface engineering technology which has various functions coating. Thermal spraying method with high efficiency, uniform composition, high purity, easy industrial production and other advantages have been widely used. But the disadvantage of it is there are more pores and cracks on MoSi2surface which will provide an opportunity for the oxygen invasion and can not play the role of oxygen diffusion barrier layer. In addition, there are noise and energy consumption when using thermal spraying method to produce MoSi2.
