Titanium Zirconium Molybdenum Alloy Bar’s Mechanical Property

Titanium zirconium molybdenum alloy bars after forged, with the forging rate increases, some mechanical performance of TZM bars will increase by linear way, such as tensile strength, yield strength and fiber strength. Wherein 60% deformation TZM bars elongation reached at 650MPa, the yield reaches at 575MPa, elongation at room temperature has reached 7%, micro hardness reaches at HV220. When TZM bar deformation processing rate arrived at 80% the strength of TZM bars reached 780MPa, yield strength reached 710MPa, elongation up to 25% and the hardness reached HV255.
This shows that after forging process due to the rotation of grains and broken phenomenon happening, leading to increased longitudinal contact area of grain boundaries and the grain boundary resistance increased, thus increasing the longitudinal strength of the material, the hardness of the fibers is increased. Performance on TZM alloy bar after tensile stretch behavior is not a characteristic of sintered brittle material and has significant yield behavior, showing characteristics of plastic materials. Therefore, TZM alloy bar is a typical deformation strengthening alloy.
