The following will introduce the factors that affect the mechanical property of titanium zirconium molybdenum alloy:
1. Deformation treatment: It was found that, after hot extrusion, hot forging and other deformation treatment, titanium zirconium molybdenum (TZM) alloy elongation at room temperature up to 33% e witch is higher than other alloy without deformation. That’s indicating suitable deformation treatment can significantly improve alloy plasticity and other mechanical properties.
2. Annealing treatment: With the annealing temperature increase, TZM alloy hardness and tensile strength decrease, but plasticity is enhanced.
3. Neutron radiation treatment: After neutron irradiation treatment, strength and hardness of TZM alloy significantly improved, but elongation dramatically go down, the fracture toughness decreases to a lesser extent.
4. Strain Rate: After studies the mechanical properties of the TZM alloy to different strain rate sensitivity found that when the temperature is below 1000 ℃ the strength of alloy is not sensitive to strain rate changes. However, when the temperature is higher than 1200 ℃, as the temperature increases, the strength getting more sensitivity to strain rate.
5. Cyclic stress: Study experimental data found that, with increasing the maximum cyclic stress, fatigue life of alloy decreasing and elongation increased.
