The world's first developer of molybdenum is present in Norway Kerner deposit, which began mining in 1885, but was little demand for molybdenum, so mining stopped frequently. Until the half of the 19th century, the industrial production of molybdenum was first started in the United States, and only a few tons of annual output. Chinese molybdenum ore was first discovered in the Qing Dynasty began mining on the eve of the First World War.
