The domestic molybdenum market as a whole remained weak. As the previous favorable supports were gradually consumed, the market pattern gradually shifted from a seller’s market to a buyer’s market, mainly reflected in the weakened confidence of suppliers in stabilizing prices, the rising sentiment among downstream buyers to suppress prices, and the continuously strong wait-and-see atmosphere in the market.

In the molybdenum concentrate market, supported by factors such as the continuous price decrease in recent days, the increased enthusiasm of downstream enterprises for replenishing inventories at low prices, and the stable operation of the overseas molybdenum market, suppliers generally showed strong willingness to hold prices firm, with current quotations concentrated around RMB 5,150/ton-degree.

In the ferromolybdenum market, the market generally operated under pressure, mainly due to the rising price suppression sentiment of steel enterprises and the still relatively high prices of raw materials. Up to now, the total volume of ferromolybdenum purchased through steel bidding in May has exceeded 11,000 tons.

In the molybdenum chemical and product market, the market generally operated steadily with no obvious fluctuations for the time being. Most end users maintained procurement based on rigid demand. In addition, suppliers showed weak willingness to lower prices for shipments, so market prices were adjusted slightly within a reasonable range, and the volume of new orders was limited.
