I. Molybdenum Price Trend Analysis in China in March 2026

According to CTIA GROUP LTD, the price trend of molybdenum products in China in March 2026 remained relatively stable.

Except for a slight decrease in the price of molybdenum raw materials, the prices of other molybdenum products remained stable. In March, the price of molybdenum concentrate decreased by RMB 30 per ton-degree, a decrease of 0.67%; the price of ferromolybdenum decreased by RMB 4,000 per ton, a decrease of 1.40%; the price of molybdenum oxide decreased by RMB 30 per ton-degree, a decrease of 0.66%.

In March, the overall molybdenum market in China remained stable. Under the interaction of multiple bullish and bearish factors, there was intense price negotiation between buyers and sellers, with transactions being fairly active. Positive factors include: firstly, the strong willingness of steel companies to tender for ferromolybdenum, with the total amount of ferromolybdenum tendered in March reaching about 15,000 tons, an increase of 5,700 tons (61.29%) compared to about 9,300 tons in February, with a year-on-year increase of nearly 0%; secondly, the rising energy prices and the limited supply of molybdenum raw materials in the spot market jointly supported suppliers' confidence in maintaining prices.

Negative factors include: firstly, the significant increase in molybdenum prices in February, which somewhat limited the upward potential of molybdenum prices in March; secondly, the small decrease in molybdenum prices in March, with prices still at relatively high levels, which led to a slow easing of the buyers' reluctance to purchase at high prices; thirdly, the difficulty in increasing the tender price for steel, which failed to stimulate the molybdenum market.

II. Average Prices of Molybdenum Products in March 2026

In March 2026, the average prices of most molybdenum products in China increased both month-on-month and year-on-year. Among them, the average price of molybdenum concentrate was RMB 4,433 per ton-degree, increasing by 5.22% month-on-month and 30.27% year-on-year; the average price of ferromolybdenum was RMB 283,500 per ton, increasing by 4.00% month-on-month and 27.51% year-on-year; the average price of molybdenum oxide was RMB 4,533 per ton-degree, increasing by 5.30% month-on-month and 28.78% year-on-year; the average price of sodium molybdate was RMB 202,000 per ton, increasing by 5.98% month-on-month and 26.59% year-on-year; the average price of ammonium molybdate was RMB 279,000 per ton, increasing by 6.81% month-on-month and 27.65% year-on-year; the average price of heptamolybdate was RMB 283,000 per ton, increasing by 6.47% month-on-month and 27.51% year-on-year; the average price of molybdenum powder was RMB 535 per kilogram, increasing by 6.57% month-on-month and 31.45% year-on-year; the average price of molybdenum rods was RMB 538 per kilogram, increasing by 6.75% month-on-month and 20.36% year-on-year.
