Ferro Molybdenum Prices - June 25, 2023

The overall situation of the domestic molybdenum market is average, mainly due to the fact that many traders have not fully entered the normal trading state on the first day after the Dragon Boat Festival, so the actual transaction speed is not high and the prices of molybdenum products are basically arranged within a narrow range. 

In this situation, some industry players predict that the market may continue to maintain a strong operation in the short term. Currently, the prices of molybdenum concentrate and ferro molybdenum are about RMB 3,890/ton and RMB 253,000/ton respectively.

According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, in May 2023, China's steel bar output was 19.929 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 8.8%; the output of medium-thick and wide steel strips was 17.878 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 5.6%; 11.63 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 13.3%; iron ore raw ore production was 77.60 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.9%. From January to May 2023, the output of steel bars in China was 96.937 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 0.9%; the output of medium-thick and wide steel strips was 83.427 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 8.4%; the output of wire rods (wire rods) was 58.379 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 0.2% %; iron ore raw ore output was 391.352 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 6.5%.
