China Molybdenum Price - December 14, 2022

China molybdenum price rose sharply in the middle of December 2022 with the increasing number of favorable factors. The prices of most molybdenum products have hit new highs in the past ten years.

In the molybdenum concentrate market, the overall market is relatively optimistic. Under the influence of the relatively small spot supply of molybdenum concentrate, the increase in inquiries from downstream users, and the continuous rise in the international molybdenum market, many molybdenum mining companies have significantly increased their confidence in selling and raising prices. The price of molybdenum concentrate is about 3,800 yuan/ton degree.

In the ferromolybdenum market, the atmosphere of buying and selling in the market is good, low-priced goods are hard to come by, and steel companies have successively entered the market to bid for ferromolybdenum with considerable bidding prices. These are important energy sources for intermediate smelters to raise their confidence in quotations. The transaction price of ferromolybdenum basically revolves around 259,000 yuan / ton or so.

In the market of molybdenum chemical and its products, the transaction volume and price have both risen. Driven by the increase in the consumption capacity of end customers, the upstream market and the strong bullish sentiment in the international molybdenum market, the quotations of molybdenum chemical companies have increased. Previously, sodium molybdate and heptamolybdic acid ammonium prices rose to around RMB 166,000/ton and RMB 238,000/ton respectively.
