Sodium Molybdate Price - September 28, 2022

Molybdenum market quotation in China: sodium molybdate, ammonium heptamolvbdate and ammonium molybdate prices are unchanged from the previous trading day on September 28, 2022. 

At the beginning of the week, affected by the rising price and quantity of steel tender and the tight spot supply in the market, the price of molybdenum chemical products rose sharply. However, the sharp rise in molybdenum prices has also led to a slight decline in the enthusiasm of downstream users to enter the market for inquiries and purchases recently, thus making the current market relatively stable.

In the molybdenum concentrate market, the overall operation is maintained at a high level. Affected by the epidemic in many places, the imminent National Day holiday, the high temperature weather and the high pressure on environmental protection, the output of many molybdenum mining enterprises has been slightly reduced. Coupled with the depreciation of the RMB, the molybdenum import market has been affected. Cooling down has aggravated the problem of tight supply of molybdenum raw materials, so the willingness of suppliers to make profits is generally low.

In the ferro-molybdenum market, the product price is temporarily stable at around RMB 197,000/ton. In addition to the fact that there are still steel companies willing to enter the market to bid for ferro-molybdenum, which is the main reason to support the strong operation of the market, it is difficult to find low-priced sources and ferro-molybdenum spot stocks. Not much, and it is also an important source of power for intermediate smelting enterprises to increase their confidence in price support.

In the market of molybdenum chemical industry and its products, the atmosphere of on-site purchases and sales is general. Although the prices of molybdenum chemical products such as molybdenum powder, sodium molybdate and ammonium molybdate have also increased with the increase in the price of raw materials, the end customers basically maintain the rigid demand for purchases, so the market volume is not much.

News: According to the monitoring of the Iron and Steel Association, at the end of August, the China Steel Price Index (CSPI) was 114.37 points, a month-on-month increase of 2.61% and a year-on-year decrease of 24.29%. At the end of August, the CSPI long product index was 120.78 points, a month-on-month increase of 2.68% and a year-on-year decrease of 21.09%; the CSPI plate index was 112.94 points, a month-on-month increase of 2.37% and a year-on-year decrease of 25.99%.
