Molybdenum Powder Price - August 15, 2022

At the beginning of the week, China’s molybdenum powder, ferro molybdenum and molybdenum concentrate prices remain unchanged on August 15, 2022. 

Although the market demand is still large and the spot inventory of molybdenum raw materials is relatively small, to a large extent, the suppliers' confidence in quotations has been supported. However, due to the sharp rise in the price of molybdenum raw materials last week and the correction of the high international molybdenum price, downstream users have recently become afraid of high prices. To some extent, the rational consumption is basically maintained, which in turn hinders the sharp rise of molybdenum prices again.

News: In the first ten days of August, the social inventory of 5 major types of steel in 21 cities was 10.28 million tons, down 4.2% from the previous month, up 30.5% from the beginning of the year, and down 15.2% from the same period last year. In terms of regions, inventory in East China decreased by 4.1% month-on-month, Northwest China decreased by 12.5%, South China decreased by 3.6%, Central China decreased by 4.3%, and inventory in Northeast, North and Southwest China decreased by 4.3%, 2.6% and 2.1% respectively.
