China Molybdenum price - August 12, 2022

China molybdenum price was in the upward trend in the week ended on Friday, August 12, 2022. With the continuous increase of positive factors, the pessimistic atmosphere in the market has dissipated significantly, not only the price of molybdenum chemical products has risen significantly, but also the transaction volume has also increased significantly. 

According to statistics from Chinatungsten Online, the prices of molybdenum concentrate, ferromolybdenum and molybdenum oxide rose by around RMB 240/ton, RMB 15,000/ton and RMB 240/ton respectively this week.

From the perspective of the supply side, first, due to the frequent high temperature and rainy weather in summer and the poor performance of the molybdenum market in the early stage, the output of some molybdenum mining enterprises has been reduced, which is conducive to the seller's quotation; Affected by the sharp rebound, the import volume of domestic molybdenum raw materials has declined to a certain extent.

From the demand side, firstly, when the price of molybdenum raw materials is still relatively low, the willingness of steel companies and end customers to receive goods is generally strong; secondly, the summer vacation in some European countries has ended, so the increase in European market demand is conducive to my country's molybdenum products are exported.
