Ferro Molybdenum Price - June 20, 2022

At the beginning of the week, China’s molybdenum market continued to be strong. Although the price of molybdenum products rose significantly last week, steel companies and other buyers were afraid of high prices, resulting in a slight slowdown in the actual transaction. 

Under the support of limited spot inventory of molybdenum raw materials and high production costs, most suppliers still have a strong sense of firm quotation. Currently, the prices of molybdenum concentrate and ferro molybdenum are firm at around RMB 2,780/mtu and RMB 183,000/ton respectively.

In terms of news: data from China Iron and Steel Association shows that in June, the cumulative daily output of crude steel by key statistical iron and steel enterprises was 2.2886 million tons, a decrease of 0.62% month-on-month and a year-on-year decrease of 2.0%; the daily output of pig iron was 2,052,200 tons, an increase of 1.07% month-on-month and a year-on-year increase of 1.47%. ; The daily output of steel was 2,172,000 tons, a decrease of 1.82% month-on-month and a year-on-year decrease of 1.33%.
