Ferro Molybdenum Price - Feb. 28, 2022

At the beginning of the week, China’s domestic molybdenum price continues to remain unchanged under the weakness in the demand side and low inventory of raw materials. 

At present, the industry's focus is on the launch of a new round of steel mill bidding activities and the impact of intensified external geo-risks on the domestic and foreign molybdenum markets. The domestic prices of molybdenum concentrate and molybdenum powder were firm at around 2,500 yuan/mtu and 315 yuan/kg respectively, and the mainstream price of ferro molybdenum was below 168,000 yuan/ton.

In terms of news: in January 2022, the medium and heavy plate rolling mill produced 5.6 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 5.7%, and the daily output was 181,000 tons; the hot continuous rolling mill produced 16.41 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.6%, with a daily output of 529,000 tons; the cold continuous rolling mill produced 673 tons. 10,000 tons, down 0.1% year-on-year, with a daily output of 217,000 tons.
