At present, an innovative method in directly reducing molybdenum oxide is under study. Like the previous processes, the element is transformed into palletized metallic molybdenum product. Molybdenum is reduced into pellets, which contain equally high density yet are malleable enough to serve an alloy agent when applied in steelmaking operations. By means of pellet-making, the endothermic and exothermic reduction stages of molybdenum oxide are more controlled, enabling the entire reduction process to complete.
