12 Molybdosilicic Acid

12 molybdosilicic acid is a kind of molybdenum acid crystal. Its basic properties are as following:

12 molybdosilicic acidCAS No.:11089-20-6
English Name : 12-molybdosilicic acid
Formula:H2O.XH.XMO12O40SI
Relative density of 2.82.
Melting point: 45 ℃

This kind of crystal is not soluble in benzene, chloroform, and carbon disulfide, but dissolved in water, dilute acid, ethanol and acetone, broke down in strong alkali, lost water under 100 ~ 105 ℃.  Its aqueous solution is a strong oxidant.

Producing Method:
1. Extracting from silicon sodium molybdate under sulfuric acid and ether.
2. Metathesis reacting of tungsten acid and rare earth carbonate.

Application:
It is widely used as catalyst, reagents, atomic energy in the ion exchangers, electroplating additives and adhesives, and photographic industry. Removing SO2 and NOX can be applied molybdosilicic acid in flue gas. Transferring HS and recovery of sulfur by chemical absorption into 2-molybdosilicic acid solution can be used to protect environment. The concentration of 12-molybdosilicic acid will directly influence the result of absorption. H2S existing in our daily life and is as familiar for its pungent smell as toxic gas, such as abandoned gas from garbage rubbish treatment plant, coal gas and natural gas containing sulfur, abandoned food industry and sludge treatment plant.

Sulfur can be recycled and used to advantageously industry, and for it is large quantity in the above industries, recycling method has been a hot topic. High efficient recycling of sulfur is both of advantage resource and will stop the secondary pollution. 12 molybdosilicic acid is a absorption for H2S. There has been a testing that, if the concentration of molybdosilicic acid is increasing from 0.00086mol/dm3 to 0.009mol/dm3, which is about 10 times, the absorption of H2S can go up to 90% from 72%. Based on several years testing, higher concentration of the acid, higher absorption. 12 molybdosilicic acid uses in recycling sulfur has been a new area for molybdenum application.
