After researches found, different dopping amount of Ti will cause different effect on TZM alloy’s mechanical properties. TZM alloy’s micro-hardness increase with Ti dopping amount increase. When TiH2 content is about 0.6%, the micro-hardness of alloy up to the maximum value. However, after that, even Ti dopping amount increase TZM alloy’s hardness decrease. This is because with Ti dopping amount increase there are lots of second phase gathering in the grain boundary to influence the strengthening effect and to make alloy’s hardness decrease.
On the other hand, the deformation resistance of alloy increase with Ti dopping amount increase, and this is may be relate to the oxide which exist in alloy’s. The oxide can prevent dislocation glide to make alloy has greater high temperature deformation resistance and higher mechanical behavior. But it also brought some trouble for processes. With Ti dopping amount increase, the second phase of alloy gathering and the oxide where in the grain boundary increase as well so make TZM alloy in 1300℃ and 1400℃ has better deformation resistance.
