La2O3 Influence TZM Alloy’s Vickers Hardness

By observing the relationship between different amount ofLa2O3 in TZM alloy and vickers hardness of TZM alloy found that adding La2O3 particles in the alloy increases the hardness of the alloy. But also it has changed the hardness curve at the various stages of alloy.
The TZM alloy which didn’t add La2O3 particles has three distinct stages of hardness change. At the first stage the alloy during the recovery stage, so the hardness decreased slowly. The second stage is recrystallization, hardness decreased rapidly. By the third stage, the hardness decreased slowly, hardness curve to flatten, indicating that in the third phase alloys have been completed or are nearing completed recrystallization.
TZM alloy adding La2O3 particles, not only hardness increase, but hardness curve is also different for each stage, and with the increase of La2O3 content, the hardness of the TZM alloy also increased. For example, at the first stage, TZM alloy occurs recovery at 1000 ℃, and TZM-La2O3 alloy recovery phase occurs at 1200℃ and 1400℃. The second phase, the recrystallization temperature of TZM alloy is 1200 ℃, while the recrystallization temperature of the alloy TZM-La2O3 increased to 1300℃ and 1500℃. However, the hardness of the alloy TZM-La2O3 declined from the beginning of 1400 ℃ rapid, since no complete recrystallization, hardness curve is not quite complete, but also see the hardness curve less than the third stage.
