La2O3 Particle Influence TZM Alloy’s Elongation

Observed TZM alloy elongation after adding different amounts La2O3 found that the elongation of TZM alloy change differently. The TZM alloy which didn’t add La2O3 the elongation is 4.6%. Besides, with annealing temperature increase the elongation increase as well. When the annealing temperature at 1200 ℃, the elongation reach the maximum value 31.3%, after alloy’s elongation reach the maximum value with annealing temperature increase the elongation decrease rapidly. Annealed at 1600 ℃, the elongation dropped to 10.1%.
TZM-La2O3 alloy which added 0.1% La2O3 particles the rolled state elongation is 6.2%, with annealing temperature increase the elongation increases as well. After annealing at 1300 ℃, elongation is 21.2%, and after 1600 ℃ annealing, the elongation increased to 27.7%. In addition, TZM-La2O3 alloy which added 0.6% La2O3 particle the rolled state elongation is 7.9%, with the annealing temperature increase, the elongation increases. After annealing at 1300 ℃, elongation is 22.9% and after 1600 ℃ annealing, elongation increased to 29.8%.
Which we can found that TZM alloy which adding La2O3 particles, the elongation of it has significantly improved, and with the increase of La2O3 particle content the elongation increase with annealing temperature rising.
