TZM-La2O3 Cogging-down

Cogging-down step is the first step of TZM-La2O3 alloy rolling processes, not only to complete the change in geometry, but also change the sintered alloy microstructure to working organizations to improve the mechanical properties and processing properties of the alloy slab conducive to subsequent processing smoothly.
TZM-La2O3 due to add rare earth element, so its deformation resistance than TZM alloy is better, so the cogging-down temperature of it set at 1350℃. After the experiment found that, at this cogging-down temperature no one alloy slab cracking, and good performance.
On the other hand, TZM-La2O3 alloys cogging use 35% ~ 40% large deformations to cogging-down. This is so not only because the large amount of deformation will make molybdenum billet internal uniform, but also avoid alloy in rolling subsequent processing will occurs delamination, cracking and other defects. At the same time, it is also beneficial crushed molybdenum billet closed cell, porosity and so on which makes the grain bonding strength is greatly increased.
Finally, in the rolling speed, in order to improve production efficiency and ensure the desired final rolling temperature, generally use high-speed rolling. Wherein, at the begging of cogging-down, mainly using low speed rolling, making the alloy bite condition can be improved. When the enter intermediate rolling stage, with the alloy rolled thin rolling speed can be improved.
