TZM Alloy’s Warm Rolling

Warm rolling is an important factor for reduce the TZM alloy plastic-brittle transition temperature and improving the low-temperature plasticity. Alloy plastic-brittle transition temperature is closely related to the rolling temperature, which because TZM alloy after hot rolling fiber flow line organization has not yet formed, so if this time hot-rolled TZM alloy after warm rolling can be greatly improve the finished product of the alloy. At the same time, the amount of warm rolling pass deformation can not too small or too large, the general control within 20% ~30%, and usually no more than three passes.
Warm rolling is processing under temperature which is below the recrystallization temperature and higher the ductility transition temperature. And for the TZM alloy, the temperature range is wider which is below the recrystallization temperature and above room temperature. By observing rolled alloy fibrous tissue found that the alloy is always fibrous tissue deformation. And there is a certain degree of hardening. With the alloy thinning, rolling temperature should be gradually reduced. For molybdenum, which is because the degree of deformation increases, the recrystallization temperature is decreased and the deformation of the molybdenum is very sensitive to temperature, at elevated temperatures, it can recrystallization in a short time, so the rolling temperature must be gradually lower. For TZM alloy sheet, since dispersed TiC and ZrC increases the recrystallization temperature of the alloy, so a wide range of rolling temperature upper limit.
