Annealing Temperature Influence Titanium Zirconium Molybdenum Alloy Elongation

Titanium zirconium molybdenum alloy extrusion manufacturing process will produce a lot of stress, so the alloy need to operate annealing process, thereby changing the alloy hardness and toughness properties, in order to improve alloy’s machinability.
According to experimental data found that as the annealing temperature increase, the elongation increased as well and process hardening phenomenon waning. However, at 950℃ annealing temperature, the elongation of  TZM alloy is almost zero. Because at this temperature, there are large number of holes and these holes easily lead to product breakage. At a temperature in the range of 850~1050 ℃, the elongation with annealing temperature increase changes to a lesser extent, mainly because in this temperature range, grain boundaries and matrix alloy has more mixed, but the impact of mixed is the main reason for the mechanical properties of the alloy. At the same time at this temperature, there is not much change in the organization of TZM alloy still is processing state fibrous tissue. And at a temperature in the range of 850 ~ 1150 ℃, the alloy at rally phase and the macroscopic stress after the low temperature heat can be removed, but still has some microscopic stress exist. At a temperature in the range of 1150 ~ 1600 ℃, with increasing of annealing temperature, the elongation increases.
