At 800 ℃, there will detect the tensile properties of carbides-free alloy and 0.4%TiC/ZrC adding alloy separately. And to learn about TiC / ZrC carbides addition how to influence titanium zirconium molybdenum (TZM) alloys‘s mechanical properties.
After study found, on the one hand, at the high temperature, due to the influence of heat, the binding force between atoms weakened and metal material common occurs "softening" effect at high temperature. Therefore, three kinds of alloy the strength has decrease at 800 ℃ than room temperature. However, the small amount of TiC/ZrC adding can delay the strength decline at high temperature, which added 0.4% TiC alloy at 800 ℃ the high temperature strength decrease22.4% than the at room temperature. Besides, adding 0.4% TiC TZM alloy high temperature strength decreased by 16.1%. What’s more, carbides-free alloy at 800℃ then tensile strength decreased rapidly, compared with room temperature strength decreases by as much as 27.7%.
On the other hand, micro-carbides add in TZM alloy significantly improve the high temperature strength of the alloy. Adding 0.4% TiC alloy at 800℃ tensile strength alloy is 450.5Mpa which improve 28.3% than carbides-free alloy. And tensile strength of TZM alloy will arrived at56.7% when add 0.4% ZrC in alloy.
