Independent Energy Solutions, Inc. to Install Photovoltaic System for Earthly Body

Independent Energy Solutions, Inc. (IES), a leading solar energy development and construction firm, announced yesterday that they have been contracted by Earthly Body to install a roof-top solar electric (photovoltaic) system for its company headquarters located in Chatsworth, California. This project is capable of supporting a 63 kilowatt DC STC system, once completed, will be capable of generating nearly 100,000 kilowatt hours of clean, green electricity annually. This will translate into reducing C02 emissions by approximately 1,834 tons over a 25 year period which is the environmental equivalent of planting 31.4 acres of trees. Over 25 years, this IES system will generate a total estimated energy value worth $328,000. Designed and built by IES, this project will consist of 252 Hyundai solar modules, one Advanced Energy central inverter and a custom designed racking solution.
According to Kevin Wachs, Earthly Body Inc.’s President and Founder, “Earthly Body is dedicated to the sustainability of our planet, which is seen not only in the natural products we produce, but in our commitment to manufacturing these products in a low-waste, green facility. After months of research, we have selected IES to design and install our new solar energy system, and trust that they are the most qualified and fit for this project.”
IES expects to begin construction at the Earthly Body headquarters in July, with completion anticipated by the end of 2013. (Excerpt from Energy Digital)
