Toshiba's acquisition of Bridgelux white LED chip and expand to 1 trillion 250 billion yen

Toshiba has announced, Bridgelux and Toshiba have entered into a cooperation agreement on white LED chip and related assets, while its R & D department and researchers be accepted.
Toshiba said the agreement reached with Bridgelux including technical and asset purchase, and Toshiba also receive Bridgelux's R & D department and researchers. Upon completion of the acquisition, Toshiba will combine the Bridgelux's silicon-based GaN technology and its own semiconductor mass production technology to enrich their own white LED lighting products, and through the expansion of production scale to strengthen the competitiveness.
It is expected that the size of the white LED industry of Toshiba will continue to expand, and will reach 1 trillion 250 billion yen in 2016.
