Molybdenum market trend this week (March 4 - 8)

Foreign markets of molybdenum oxide offer temporary remained stable this week, European molybdenum iron offer fell slightly, mainly because of the steel mills reduced demand, it is difficult to drive the price. The European bottled molybdenum oxide price stability in of 11.0-11.20 dollars / pounds of molybdenum, ferro molybdenum offer dropped to 27.6-28.0 U.S. dollars / kg.

42-45% Mo molybdenum concentrate offer fell from 1680-1700 yuan / ton to 1650-1670 yuan / ton, 45-47% Mo molybdenum concentrate offer from 1700-1720 yuan / ton, fell to 1670-1700 yuan / ton this week. Steel mills tender prices fell, resulted in molybdenum prices decline, thus affecting the molybdenum concentrate prices come down.

Molybdenum iron quoted market price declines this week, cash offer from 117,000 yuan / ton dropped to 114,000 yuan / ton, acceptance offer dropped to 127,000 yuan from 120,000 yuan / ton / ton, mainly due to the low prices of steel mills tender.  The molybdenum iron quotations pressure decline. This week some steel mills approach the tender, the price decline. WISCO tender 100 tons, the redemption price of 112,000 yuan / ton; Hengyang Steel Tube tender 80 tons of ferro molybdenum, 113,950 yuan / ton redemption price; tender 280 tons OurGame, the redemption price of 108,000 yuan / ton; the Zhangpu tender 60 tons, acceptance price of 108,000 yuan / ton; Tianjin Pipe tender 200 tons redemption price of 112,500 yuan / ton.

Downstream steel mills sluggish demand, steel tender prices continue to fall, and difficult to drive the price rebound. The molybdenum price trend is not optimistic, next week, prices may drop further if market demand does not change fundamentally.
