The domestic molybdenum market is generally showing a strong upward trend.

With tight spot supply of raw materials and relatively high downstream demand, the price focus of many products has slightly increased, and market activity is lively. Against this backdrop, industry professionals have greater expectations for the future market.

In the molybdenum concentrate market, the overall sentiment of withholding sales and bullishness is strong. The mainstream suppliers have raised their prices by RMB 30 per ton-degree, mainly due to high purchasing willingness from molybdenum ferroalloy manufacturers and the slow growth of molybdenum concentrate spot supply.

In the molybdenum ferroalloy market, the overall market situation is good, with both the price and volume of steel tenders increasing, and strong support from production costs. These factors have jointly enhanced the confidence of intermediate smelting enterprises in raising prices, with molybdenum ferroalloy prices increasing by RMB 2,000 per ton today.

In the molybdenum chemical and its products market, under relatively stable supply and demand conditions, the prices of molybdate, molybdenum powder, and molybdenum rods have also increased, driven by the rise in raw material prices.

In terms of news, data from the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) shows that in February 2026, the output of medium and heavy plate mills among key statistical enterprises increased year-on-year, while the output of hot-rolling mills and cold-rolling mills decreased year-on-year. In February, the medium and heavy plate mills produced 6.22 million tons of special-thick and medium-thick plates, an increase of 4.1% year-on-year; the hot-rolling mills produced 14.02 million tons, a decrease of 8.7% year-on-year; the cold-rolling mills produced 630 tons, a decrease of 2.9% year-on-year.
