Molybdenum Concentrate Price - September 25, 2023

At the beginning of the week, domestic molybdenum prices in China continued to show a downward trend overall. This is mainly attributed to the previous rise in molybdenum product prices, recent market demand falling short of expectations, and the lack of confidence in stabilization by many suppliers.

According to information gathered by Chintungsten Online, the current prices of molybdenum concentrate and ferro molybdenum have dropped to approximately CNY 4,130 per ton and CNY 273,000 per ton, respectively. However, due to the support of production costs and the traditional consumption peak season, suppliers have limited room to lower prices.

In terms of news, data from the Market Operation Monitoring System of the Ministry of Commerce shows that from September 11th to 17th, the prices of production materials in the national market increased by 0.3% compared to the previous week. Steel prices have seen a slight decline, with prices for welded steel pipes, channel steel, and rebar at CNY 4,421 per ton, CNY 4,241 per ton, and CNY 3,929 per ton, respectively, representing decreases of 0.3%, 0.2%, and 0.1%.
