Molybdenum Powder Price - September 11, 2023

At the beginning of the week, China’s ferro molybdenum and molybdenum oxide prices increase slightly while molybdenum powder price remains stable on September 11, 2023. 

With the current limited supply in the spot market and the arrival of "Golden September and Silver October," there has been a slight increase in inquiries from downstream users. Currently, the prices for molybdenum concentrate and molybdenum iron are approximately CNY 4,370 per ton Mo and CNY 285,000 per ton, respectively. Recently, steel companies such as Shandong Iron and Steel Group, Shandong Iron and Steel Group, Wugang Xiangyang Heavy Industry, and Dalian Special Steel have entered bids for molybdenum iron.

In terms of news, data from the National Bureau of Statistics shows that in July 2023, the investment growth rate of fixed assets in the national mining industry increased by 2.0%. However, in the black metal ore mining and selection industry, the investment growth rate decreased by 9.7%, which was lower than the overall mining industry's growth rate by 11.7 percentage points. This represents a 13.9 percentage point narrowing of the growth rate compared to June.
