China Molybdenum Price - November 11, 2022

This week, China molybdenum price showed a pattern of first falling and then rising. At the beginning of the week, the prices of molybdenum chemical products generally fell due to the general demand from downstream users. 

As the weekend approached, under the support of the increase in downstream demand and the decrease in the stock of molybdenum raw materials in the market, the quotations of suppliers increased rationally.

However, for this rise, the industry has different views, some believe that the price of molybdenum will continue to rise, and some have great concerns about the market outlook, mainly due to the unstable global economic situation.

According to Chinatungsten Online, the main reasons for the increase in market demand are: it is currently in the traditional peak consumption season and the downstream molybdenum industry is developing well, so consumers are more motivated to purchase; compared with mid-October, the current price of molybdenum raw materials is relatively high. The low level can improve the purchaser's consumption desire to a certain extent. The main reasons for the tight spot supply in the market are: a large number of suppliers shipped in the early stage, the recent production capacity release of many molybdenum manufacturers is limited, and downstream inquiries are acceptable.

In terms of news: data from the China Iron and Steel Association shows that from January to September 2022, the national stainless steel output was 23.6346 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 5.22%; imported stainless steel was 2.4456 million tons (excluding waste and scrap), a year-on-year increase of 13.39%; stainless steel table The observed consumption was 20.2908 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 4.97%.
