Molybdenum Powder Price - October 19, 2022

Molybdenum market quotation in China: molybdenum concentrate and molybdenum oxide prices increase slightly while molybdenum powder price remains stable on October 19, 2022 as most insiders are optimistic about the market outlook.

In the molybdenum concentrate market, the product price rose slightly to around RMB 3,390/tonne. Under the circumstance that the downstream demand is acceptable, the early shipment volume is relatively large, and the recent production capacity release is limited, molybdenum mining enterprises basically hold strong reluctance to sell and are optimistic about the market. 

In the ferromolybdenum market, the overall wait-and-see sentiment has increased slightly. Under the influence of the continuous rise in the price of molybdenum concentrate, the quotations of intermediate smelting enterprises have also increased, but the enthusiasm of steel enterprises to enter the market has generally decreased.

In the market of molybdenum chemical industry and its products, there is no obvious change in the market conditions. Under the circumstance that end customers maintain just-in-demand purchases and the price increase of molybdenum raw materials slows down, molybdenum chemical companies basically maintain rational quotations.

News: According to the monitoring of the China Iron and Steel Association, at the end of September 2022, the China Iron Ore Price Index (CIOPI) was 360.51 points, down 8.29 points from the previous month, or 2.25%, down 8.27 percentage points from the previous month; down 79.19 points year-on-year , a decrease of 18.01%.
