China molybdenum price continued the positive trend of last week after the holiday of Mid-Autumn Festival.
Under the influence of the willingness of steel companies to enter the market to bid for ferromolybdenum, the tender price was acceptable and the low-priced supply was difficult to obtain, the quotations of ferromolybdenum merchants were basically adjusted, thereby enhancing the confidence of upstream and downstream in raising prices.
The current price of molybdenum concentrate and molybdenum oxide has exceeded 2,700 yuan/ton and 2,800 yuan/ton respectively.
In terms of news: data from the China Iron and Steel Association shows that in late August 2022, key statistics iron and steel enterprises produced a total of 22.3504 million tons of crude steel, 20.5769 million tons of pig iron, and 22.2887 million tons of steel. Among them, the daily output of crude steel was 2,031,900 tons, an increase of 1.78% month-on-month; the daily output of pig iron was 1,870,600 tons, a month-on-month increase of 0.64%; the daily output of steel was 2,026,200 tons, a month-on-month increase of 4.13%.
