China Molybdenum Price - July 15, 2022

This week, China molybdenum price still moved down slightly, mainly due to the high price pressure of downstream users and the obvious decline of international molybdenum raw material prices, which led to the lack of confidence in most suppliers to stabilize prices. 

In the molybdenum concentrate market, the market is generally in general. Under the combined influence of the high enthusiasm of consumers entering the market for inquiries and the gradual opening of the international molybdenum raw material import window, the attitudes of the holders are different, which is mainly reflected in the relatively chaotic quotations, but the actual transaction is still Can.

In the ferromolybdenum market, the fundamentals of supply and demand are relatively good. Although the price of ferromolybdenum is relatively low, it is difficult to increase the price of ferromolybdenum. However, the large number of steel bids and the willingness of some upstream merchants to sell at lower prices have greatly reduced the risk of inversion faced by intermediate smelters. The current price of ferromolybdenum is temporarily stable at around 174,000 yuan / ton.

In the molybdenum chemical industry and its products market, the overall wait-and-see mood is strong. Under the circumstance that the quotations of raw material suppliers are unstable and the end customers basically maintain rigid demands, holders of molybdenum chemical products generally maintain cautious quotations. The prices of ammonium heptamolybdate and molybdenum powder are about 179,000 yuan/ton and 347 yuan/kg, respectively.

In terms of news: data from the China Iron and Steel Association shows that in the first ten days of July, the social inventory of 5 major varieties of steel in 21 cities was 12.03 million tons, a decrease of 490,000 tons or 3.9% from the previous month; an increase of 4.15 million tons or 52.7% from the beginning of the year; Year-on-year increase of 200,000 tons, an increase of 1.7%. In terms of different regions, the inventory in North China decreased by 140,000 tons or 8.9% month-on-month; Central China decreased by 110,000 tons, down 7.5%; Southwest China decreased by 100,000 tons, down 6.0%; East China decreased by 70,000 tons, down 2.1%; Northwest decreased by 6.0% 10,000 tons, a decrease of 6.8%; Northeast decreased by 10,000 tons, a decrease of 1.3%; the inventory in South China remained unchanged month-on-month.
