Ammonium Heptamolybdate Price - July 1, 2022

This week, the overall domestic molybdenum market showed a weak pattern. Affected by the significant decrease in the number of tenders and prices of steel companies compared with the previous two weeks, many suppliers' firm quotation confidence was slightly loosened. The prices of molybdenum concentrate and ferro molybdenum declined to around RMB 2,760/mtu and RMB 179,000/ton, respectively.

In the molybdenum concentrate market, the overall operation remains high and fluctuating. Although downstream users are not very enthusiastic about inquiries and purchases, resulting in slow transactions, suppliers generally have less room for price concessions, mainly due to the large early shipments and high temperature. The frequent rainstorms have caused the production of molybdenum mining enterprises to shrink.

In the ferro-molybdenum market, both the transaction volume and price dropped, the steel companies entering the market for less inquiries and the sentiment of price pressure was high, which made the price of ferro-molybdenum difficult to rise. The magnitude is smaller.

In the market of molybdenum chemical industry and its products, the overall market is tepid. In the case of end customers maintaining just-in-demand purchases, suppliers' quotations are slightly adjusted with the fluctuation of raw materials. Currently, the prices of ammonium heptamolybdate and molybdenum powder are consolidating at RMB 182,000/ton and RMB 348/kg respectively.

In terms of news: Customs statistics show that from January to May 2022, the total net export of domestic stainless steel was 516,900 tons, a decrease of 3.92% from the same period last year; among them, the net export of domestic stainless steel in May was 256,900 tons, compared with the previous year. Monthly increase of 80%, an increase of 304.5% over the same period last year.
