Ferro Molybdenum Price - March 21, 2022

At the beginning of the week, China’s domestic molybdenum market continued to remain strong Affected by factors such as the low spot inventory of molybdenum concentrate, the acceptable price of steel tenders and the generally strong awareness of profit-taking among suppliers, the trading activity in the market was relatively high. 

Market trading was active and the industry has great hope for the market outlook. Currently, the transaction prices of molybdenum concentrate and ferro molybdenum are around $440.3/mtu and $29,032.3/ton. 

In terms of news: Statistics from the China Iron and Steel Association show that from January to February, the country produced 157.96 million tons of steel, a year-on-year decrease of 10.0%, with an average daily output of 2,677,300 tons; pig iron was produced at 132.13 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 10.80%, with an average daily output of 2,239,500 tons. ton; production of steel was 196.71 million tons, down 6.0% year-on-year, with an average daily output of 3.3341 million tons.
