Ferro Molybdenum Price - January 24, 2022

At the beginning of the week, the whole tungsten market in China remains quiet with the approaching of Chinese Spring Festival.

Affected by uncertain factors such as the Spring Festival and the Winter Olympics, the stock of molybdenum raw materials on the site was not much, so the suppliers basically had a strong psychology of reluctance to sell and support the price. Influenced by high willingness and acceptable bidding price, some molybdenum mining companies are also willing to ship and withdraw funds. Currently, the prices of molybdenum concentrate and ferro molybdenum are about 2,440 yuan/ton and 164,000 yuan/ton respectively.

News: Ships are one of the major steel-using industries. According to statistics from the China Shipbuilding Industry Association, in 2021, the national shipbuilding completion volume will be 39.703 million deadweight tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.0%, of which sea-going ships will be 12.044 million modified gross tons; the new orders will be 67.068 million deadweight tons, a year-on-year increase of 131.8%, of which Sea-going ships were at 24.015 million revised gross tonnage. As of the end of December, the number of orders in hand was 95.839 million deadweight tons, a year-on-year increase of 34.8%, of which sea-going ships were 36.099 million revised gross tons, and export ships accounted for 88.2% of the total.
