Ammonium Molybdate Price - November 17, 2021

Molybdenum market quotation in China: ammonium molybdate, ferro molybdenum and molybdenum powder prices continue to fall on November 17, 2021 due to low trading interest of end-users. But with the support of production cost, sellers still have strong rised mentality. 

In the molybdenum concentrate market, the overall activity is low, the insufficient consumption capacity of ferro-molybdenum merchants, the operation of low molybdenum concentrate prices, and the maintenance work carried out by some mining companies have all contributed to the slow growth of market orders and difficulty in updating raw material prices. 

In the ferromolybdenum market, the relationship between supply and demand is in a weakly balanced stage. Affected by the stricter energy consumption control policy, the production of crude steel is restricted, which has caused many steel companies to delay the bidding time. However, supported by the low stock of ferromolybdenum, intermediate smelting companies have basically maintained rational price adjustments.

The market of molybdenum chemical industry and its products is weak, and product prices are mainly affected by the relationship between supply and demand. Under the background that the rigid demand of end customers is difficult to change, the price of molybdenum raw materials gradually declines, resulting in the difficulty in price increase of molybdenum powder, ammonium molybdate and other molybdenum chemicals. 

In the news: from January to October, China's crude steel output was 87.05 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 0.7%; pig iron output was 734.07 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 3.2%; steel output was 112.23 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 2.8%. Among them, China's crude steel production in October was 71.58 million tons, down 23.3% year-on-year; pig iron production was 63.03 million tons, down 19.4% year-on-year; steel production was 101.74 million tons, down 14.9% year-on-year.
