China Molybdenum Price - November 5, 2021

China molybdenum price was in the downward trend in the week ended on Friday, November 05, 2021, and the spot liquidity was poor. This is mainly due to the slowdown in the bidding speed of most steel companies and the unoptimistic bidding prices.

The low enthusiasm of downstream users for receiving goods, and the recovery of production by molybdenum mining enterprises in October compared with the previous period are the main reasons for the lack of confidence in suppliers to stabilize prices. The price of molybdenum concentrates this week is approximately 90 yuan/mtu.

The ferromolybdenum market is relatively weak. Although there are still some steel mills willing to enter the market for bidding, it is still difficult to offset the damage caused by factors such as limited crude steel production, declining steel prices and limited upstream market support capabilities to intermediate smelting companies. Since it is in the "Golden Nine-Silver Ten" stage and the total amount of steel and molybdenum and ferro-molybdenum in October is not large, there are still industry players who have great expectations for the future market.

In the market of molybdenum chemical products and its products, the transaction volume is difficult to increase, and the quotations of products are relatively chaotic. This is mainly due to weak terminal demand and sharp decline in raw material prices, which has caused some holders to profit and increase their weight. With the support of low stock, traders are still willing to firm up their quotations.
