Molybdenum Oxide Price - July 26, 2021

At the beginning of the week, China’s domestic molybdenum market as a whole continued the stable trend of last week. Affected by the low enthusiasm of steel companies for bidding and the tepid international molybdenum market, traders were hesitant to enter the market, resulting in low spot liquidity on the market. 

Boosted by favorable factors such as heavy rainfall, environmental protection, maintenance, and power curtailment, molybdenum chemical companies are not willing to cut their profits for orders. The current molybdenum concentrate price keeps firm at around 2,350 yuan/ton, ferro molybdenum price is consolidating at 161,000 yuan/ton, and molybdenum oxide price is about RMB 2,460/mtu.

In the news: From January to June 2021, the total water consumption of the steel association member production enterprises is 46.621 billion cubic meters, a year-on-year increase of 9.71%; the water reuse rate is 98.05%, an increase of 0.03 percentage points year-on-year; the new water consumption per ton of steel is 2.36 cubic meters M/ton, a year-on-year decrease of 4.12%; the total amount of discharged wastewater decreased by 8.24% year-on-year; the chemical oxygen demand, volatile phenol, total cyanide, suspended solids, and petroleum emissions in the discharged wastewater decreased by 6.60% and 11.62% year-on-year respectively , 12.05%, 13.52% and 11.21%.
