Molybdenum Powder Price - May 31, 2021

Molybdenum market quotation in China: ferro molybdenum, molybdenum powder and molybdenum oxide prices are unchanged from last week in the last trading day on May 31, 2021 affected by weak demand and supply. 

The market situation in May was generally good. Affected by the good volume and price of tenders by steel companies in the first half of the month, the ferromolybdenum market was relatively optimistic, and the tender volume for ferromolybdenum once again exceeded 10,000 tons.

In the news: the executive chairman of the China Iron and Steel Association stated that as of the end of February 2021, 229 iron and steel companies across the country have completed or are implementing ultra-low transformation emissions with 620 million tons of crude steel production capacity (159 in key areas have approximately 450 million tons of crude steel production capacity). 110 iron and steel enterprises in key areas (350 million tons of crude steel production capacity, accounting for more than 60% of the total production capacity in key areas) have completed or are carrying out evaluation and monitoring.
