Ferro Molybdenum Price - May 19, 2021

Molybdenum market quotation in China: ferro molybdenum, ammonium molybdate and ammonium heptamolvbdate prices keep rising in the middle of May, 2021 under the increase in commodity prices and improved demand from downstream. 

In the molybdenum concentrate market, transactions increase in volume and the price is considerable. The current price is about 1,880 yuan/ton. In the ferromolybdenum market, although downstream steel companies are active in steel tender, they are affected by the increase in raw material prices and thus profit margins are limited. In the molybdenum chemical industry and its products market, product prices have been affected by the market's short supply, which makes it difficult to find low-priced resources in the market in the short term.

From January to April, the national industrial electricity consumption was 1,675.7 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 20.5%, and the growth rate was 26.6 percentage points higher than the same period last year, accounting for 65.5% of the total electricity consumption of the society. In April, the national industrial electricity consumption was 437.1 billion kwh, a year-on-year increase of 12.1%, and the growth rate was 10.7 percentage points higher than the same period last year, accounting for 68.7% of the total electricity consumption of the society.
