Molybdenum market quotation in China: ferro molybdenum, ammonium heptamolvbdate and molybdenum bar prices are in the upward trend due to active steel biddings and reduced supply of raw materials with the approaching of the holiday of New Year’s Day.
The overall transactions are low in the tungsten concentrate market despite ferro-molybdenum merchants’ inquiries and willingness to purchase molybdenum mining companies are slightly higher than before. The current molybdenum concentrate price is about 1,500 yuan/ton; the ferro-molybdenum market seems good. Under the influence of relatively high raw material prices and the activeness of the steel market, intermediate smelting companies are generally less aware of price concessions. Therefore, it is difficult to purchase low-priced sources on the market in the short term;
The fundamentals of supply and demand in the molybdenum chemical and its products market have not changed significantly. The prices of many molybdenum chemical products have risen slightly as the bullish atmosphere in the upstream market has increased, but there is still room for improvement in end customer demand.
