Opening this week, Chinese molybdenum prices remained unchanged from last week on continued imbalanced supply and demand and low trading activity in the whole market. In the molybdenum concentrate market, under stricter environmental protection inspection, the supply was tight while the demand side was weak. So most traders still waited for the next moves in the major production areas.
The ferro molybdenum market was supported by the cost side but affected by quiet steel tenders. So the recent market inquiry seemed to be quiet and factories also faced pressure of price inversion. They are now cautious of purchase and sales.
