China's Molybdenum Concentrates, Oxide Imports Expected to Rise in Oct on Low Prices

China's imports of molybdenum concentrates and molybdic oxide are expected to rise further this month from September after moly oxide prices hit new lows earlier this month, market sources said Tuesday.
A source from central China said a few customers have imported a few hundred metric tons of moly oxide this month after global prices hit a 12 1/2-year low of $4.20/lb in early October.
In September, China imported 1,530 mt of moly oxide, the highest monthly total since November 2013. Moly oxide and concentrates imports totaled 2,042 mt last month, up 173.4% year on year and up 51.5% up from August, according to customs data.
Over January-September, China imported 9,482 mt of moly oxide and concentrates, down 17.2% year on year.
