Revivification of Molybdenum is a process to acquire metal molybdenum through oxidizing roasting and acid - alkali treatment by using molybdenum waste, including molybdenum waste catalyst, waste molybdenum compounds, waste molybdenum powder, waste molybdenum material and waste molybdenum alloys. The recovery molybdenum can be used to produce industrial molybdenum oxide, molybdenum iron, ammonium molybdate and other molybdates. The recovery of waste molybdenum, especially the molybdenum obtained from spent catalysts play an important role in the molybdenum production which is known as the third largest source of molybdenum supply (number one source is by-product molybdenum, the second-largest source is main producing molybdenum ).
Due to the wide range of waste molybdenum-containing, the regeneration methods of molybdenum vary a lot. They are: sublimation method, zinc melting method, alkali leaching method and so on. Generally the recovery rate of molybdenum is 96-98%.
The factories of molybdenum recovery can select or develop appropriate methods to obtain higher economic efficiency according to the specific ingredients of waste molybdenum material as well as the specific conditions of the factories.
